• Foreign Study

    Hardin-Simmons University and the HSU Art Department have an ongoing commitment to effective learning methods on and off campus. Biannually since 1997, art history and studio art credit have been offered on-site in countries such as Italy, Spain, France, Ireland, and England. SCHOLARSHIPS FOR FOREIGN TRAVEL ARE AVAILABLE.

    ART HISTORY IN FLORENCE SPRING 2016 (with overnight side trips to Rome, Ravenna and Urbino)

    Spend an entire semester centered in Florence Italy: Spring 2016! Attend class in front of Michelangelo’s David or inside the Uffizi in Florence, one of the world’s most famous museums. Watch a Florentine parade in full Renaissance costume or take in a futbol game! And of course earn HSU course credit to continue your degree at HSU!

    This opportunity does not have to be strictly for art majors. The classes offered will be suitable for your Fine Arts or Humanities core credits.

    And in addition, you can take other courses through the HSU partnership with the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence.

    Santa Reparata has an array of courses that will easily transfer to HSU and be included in BLOCK tuition! Other choices for fine arts, social science, or learn to speak Italiano in either a 4 credit, beginning Italian class or an 8 credit course, equivalent to a full year of a foreign language!

    Travel to Rome, Ravenna, or plan your own day trips with the help of Santa Reparata!
