• Social Work Club

    The Purpose of the Social Work Club at HSU

    1. To facilitate communication and fellowship among the social work majors and faculty
    2. To promote interest in social work issues; and
    3. To promote social action and service both within and outside the campus community.

    Social Work Club Officers for 2014-2015

    • Natalie Johnson - President
      Natalie-JohnsonMy name is Natalie Johnson, and I’m the President for the HSU Social Work club this year. I’m from Arlington, Texas and love being at Hardin-Simmons. I am a senior Social Work major. In pursuit of my dream to work with children or young women, I will be completing my field placement this year at Bowie Elementary. To me, becoming a Social Worker is such a great act of service and I’m excited to see what God has in store for me.
    • Katie McCoy – Vice President
      Katie-McCoyMy name is Katie McCoy and this year I will be serving as the Vice-President of the HSU Social Work Club. I am a senior social work major and will be completing my field placement at Methodist Children’s Home this year. I want to help give hope and meaning to people’s lives, especially to those who feel the most helpless. I am a servant of God and I want to be a servant for others.
    • Katherine Park – Photographer
      Katherine-ParkMy name is Katherine Park, and I will be serving this year as the photographer for the Social Work Club. I am a sophomore from Montgomery, Texas, with a social work major and a leadership studies minor. I am involved on campus through Alpha Iota Omega, the Spurs Dance Team, the Leadership Studies Program, and the BSM's Woven Women's Ministry, and in the community through Pioneer Drive Baptist Church. I enjoy wielding my camera for a good cause, and am excited to capture how God uses the Social Work Club to serve others this year!
    • Jacki Ledbetter – Secretary
      Jacki-LedbetterMy name is Jacki Ledbetter and I will be serving this year as the Secretary for the HSU Social Work Club, as well as the HSU Sigma Beta Chapter of Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society. I am a senior social work major and plan to work with vulnerable population groups, more specifically older adults with special interest in policy practice. I will be in my field placement this year at Mesa Springs.
    • Maygen Hansard – Treasurer
      Maygen-HansardMy name is Maygen Hansard, and I am excited to be serving as Treasurer of the HSU Social Work club this year. I am a Psychology and Social Work major, and plan on pursuing graduate school in Social Work next year! As a Senior, I am currently completing my field placement at the Department of State Health Services. Though I am originally from Midland, Texas, I am fully enjoying every moment of my journey in Abilene.
