• Social Work Club

    The Purpose of the Social Work Club at HSU

    1. To facilitate communication and fellowship among the social work majors and faculty
    2. To promote interest in social work issues; and
    3. To promote social action and service both within and outside the campus community.

    Social Work Club Officers for 2013-2014

    • Ashley McNally - President
      Ashley-McNallyMy name is Ashley McNally and I will be serving as the Social Work Club President for the school year.I am a local girl, born and raised in Abilene. My major is Social Work with a minor in Criminal Justice. My future plans are to hopefully to work for CPS or somewhere in the Child Welfare System. My passion is and has always been working with children. I am really excited about this year and can't wait to see what the Social Work Club can do for our community and campus!
    • Ashley Mitchell – Vice President
      mitchellMy name is Ashley Mitchell, and I will be serving this year as the Vice-President to the Social Work Club. I am also the President of our Phi Alpha honor society chapter, Sigma Beta. As a senior I am excited to lead our group this year. I am also a member of Alpha Iota Omega and work at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church.
    • Angelica Hernandez – Photographer
      Angelica-HernadezMy name is Angelica Hernandez and I am the Photographer of the Social Work Club. I am a senior social work major at HSU. I have been in Abilene for the past 12 years and moved here from Lubbock, Tx my 7th grade year. I attended Abilene High and graduated in 08. I transferred from Cisco College and changed my major the third time my junior year to social work and have enjoyed it ever since. They say third time's the charm. I have enjoyed every bit of HSU and can't believe it's almost at an end. I am also a member of our Phi Alpha Honor Society, Sigma Beta and serve as Vice President. I am a member of Beltway Baptist Church and cannot wait to see what the Lord has in store for me. I am particularly interested in working with families and children.
    • Natalie Johnson – Secretary
      Natalie-johnsonMy name is Natalie Johnson, and I’m the Secretary for the Social Work club this year. I’m a Junior Social Work major and hope to work with children or young women. I’m from Arlington, Texas and love being at Hardin-Simmons. Social work is such a great act of service and I’m excited to see what God has in store for me.
    • Jessica Lauderdale – Treasurer
      Jessica-LauderdaleMy name is Jessica Lauderdale and I am the Treasurer of the Social Work CLub. I am a senior from Azle, TX and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Abilene. I attend South Side Baptist Church here in Abilene and am very involved in the college ministry there. I am also involved in a social club on campus, Alpha Iota Omega and I am also serving as Secretary/Treasurer of Sigma Beta. I am so glad to be a part of the social work program here at HSU. I have a passion for serving and I feel that as a Christian, I am called to share the gospel and serve all people!
