A travel course designed to provide active learning about the flora, fauna, and habitat associations in the southwesten United States. Emphasis will be placed on natural history, adaptation and ecology of organisms in these biomes. Prerequisite: 8 hours of biology and permission of instructor

Microscopic Anatomy

A general comparative study of human cells, tissues, and organ systems. Principles of cytology, histology and embryology are included. Prerequisite: 12 hours of biology.

Cell Biology

A study of the structure and function of cells and cell components. Included are biochemical and biophysical aspects of cell architecture, cell cycle, energy transductions, nucleic acid and protein synthesis, and limited work with the electron microscope. Prerequisite: 16 hours of biology, 4 hours of chemistry.

Introduction to Cell Biology

An introduction to the principles of cell biology with emphasis on cell morphology, physiology, and gene expression. This course is required before students can take BIOL 3411.
