ON TEACHING

I believe that everyone has the desire and ability to be creative and produce art, recognizing there are various levels of interest, need and capability in individuals. My desire is to bring this out in my students through problem-solving, making art, critiquing and as much exposure to art as possible. I hope my art education students realize the correlation between art and children's over-all development. I recognize most of my students will not become famous artists, but they will understand their own relationship to the rest of the world and become art advocates who can appreciate their efforts.

SUBJECTS TAUGHT:

Art Education, Art Appreciation, Design

ARTIST'S STATEMENT

As an artist, I recognize that I look at the world in my unique way as do all others in the field. I record the things I see that really interest me with my photography, but enjoy even more manipulating the images to capture the emotion of my personal reaction to the original vision.
