University Christmas Party Set for Thursday on Anderson Lawn

School of Music Christmas Celebration begins in Behrens at 7:30 p.m.

(Abilene, Texas) — It’s everyone’s favorite time of year – the University Christmas Party! The party is scheduled for Thursday, December 1 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. on Anderson Lawn. 

The annual event will feature the lighting of the Christmas lights on Anderson Lawn, ornament crafts, cookie decorating, hot cocoa, Christmas carolers, and other holiday surprises. 

The tree lighting will take place between 6:30 to 6:45 p.m. Following the campus lighting, stay tuned for a visit from Santa. Annual Christmas party T-shirts will be for sale for $10 cash only. 

The School of Music Christmas Celebration begins in Behrens at 7:30 p.m. Toys for Tots donations will be collected at the entrance of the auditorium.  

Before the festivities, the campus can enjoy a Christmas dinner in the Moody Center Cafeteria, beginning at 5 p.m. The menu will feature prime rib, pork loin, delicious desserts, and more holiday favorites. Faculty and staff may attend the dinner at no cost. In addition, one guest per faculty/staff member may eat at no cost. Children under the age of four may eat for free. Students that have meal plans may bring their student I.D. All other guests must pay the door price of $9.74. Guests who use Cowboy Cash will receive a discounted price.  

FreshCo plans the University Christmas Party, and other student leaders from SABERS and SPARK will assist in the lighting of the campus. FreshCo, or the Freshman Leadership Council, is a partnership between Student Activities and Baptist Student Ministries designed to assist new students on campus. The campus Christmas Party is FreshCo’s largest fall event. 

The event is hosted by FreshCo, Facilities, and Aramark.
