Hardin-Simmons University to Graduate 171 on December 10

 Students from Hardin-Simmons University will cross the stage in Behrens Auditorium during two graduation ceremonies December 10, 2016.

Students will be graduating with undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees. Of the 171 students graduating in December, 98 will be receiving undergraduate degrees, 40 will be receiving master’s degrees, and 33 will be receiving doctoral degrees.  

Thirty students will be graduating cum laude, magna cum laude, and summa cum laude, and they are distinguished by gold cords. In addition, there are five students graduating with a perfect grade point average of 4.0.  Five students will receive their Master of Science degrees in Mathematics on Saturday, marking the first time for HSU to award graduate degrees in the area of Mathematics. 

During the 10 a.m. ceremony, degrees will be conferred to students graduating from the Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts, the Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics, Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing, and Logsdon School of Theology.

During the 2 p.m. commencement, degrees will be conferred to students in the Kelley College of Business, Irvin School of Education, and College of Fine Arts. 

Immediately following both commencement ceremonies, the HSU Alumni Association will host an informal reception for graduates, guests, and faculty/staff at the Alumni Wall in Centennial Plaza, located just west of Behrens Auditorium. Graduates will find a replica of the plaque that will bear their name as new alumni of HSU.
