(Abilene, Texas) Hardin-Simmons University has been included in an annual ranking of best Christian colleges and universities.

College Choice recently published its annual ranking of the best Christian colleges and universities. Hardin-Simmons ranks 69th on the list.

The ranking addresses the University’s deep Baptist roots and affiliations as well as HSU’s degree programs at the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels and the pre-professional programs in seminary, law, medicine, and more.

HSU’s community life was named as one of the campus highlights.

“Even so, the school is best known for its community life. Weekly activities and forums are held so that the student body—which totals less than 3,000 students—can share concerns and accomplishments in a harmonious assembly,” according to the ranking.

The ranking also highly rates the school’s hand-on ministry opportunities.

“Hardin-Simmons is also known for its outreach programs, Bible study groups, and opportunities to serve as missionaries abroad, making it one of the best Christian colleges for students who are serious about entering into ministry after college,” according to the ranking.

“For high school students getting ready to start the next chapter in their lives it can be difficult to know how to choose the right college,” said Katie Amondson, Associate Editor of the ranking. “Perhaps this is even more difficult for Christian students, where the scope one’s education goes beyond the classroom. At a Christian college, students participate in a learning environment that helps them grow both intellectually as well as spiritually. Our ranking of the best Christian colleges and universities is designed to help students find the right fit for an education that prepares them both intellectually and spiritually.”

The College Choice 2016 Rankings of the 100 Best Christian Colleges and Universities takes into account several key factors to deliver the best rate of return on educational investment. These factors include academic ranking, cost of tuition, total net cost, average financial aid package, and average first year salary.
