HSU’s Exercise Science Program Receives Recognition From National Strength and Conditioning Association

 

(Abilene, Texas) Hardin-Simmons University’s Exercise Science Program has received the status of “Educational Recognition Program (ERP) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).

The Exercise Science Program met the NSCA’s educational guidelines and was approved as an NSCA ERP for Strength and Conditioning in July 2015.  

The NSCA Education Recognition Program (ERP) recognizes regionally accredited academic institutions for their educational programs that have met, and continue to meet, educational guidelines recommended by the NSCA.

The Strength and Conditioning Program Recognition signifies the curriculum meets the educational guidelines in preparation for the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) Certification Exam.

ERP recognitions are good for three years and schools are eligible for renewal following this three-year period. HSU is now listed on the NSCA’s website list of ERP schools at http://www.nsca.com/Programs/Education-Recognition-Program/Recognized-ERP-Schools/   

The NSCA is the worldwide authority on strength and conditioning, supporting and disseminating research-based knowledge and its practical application to improve athletic performance and fitness.

HSU joins two other institutions holding the recognition at the undergraduate level in the state of Texas.  HSU is the third member of the 180 Christian institutions of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities to have an academic program achieving this same recognition status.
