Easter Week Egg Hunt and More

March 23, 2016 Meredith Foster (Student Writer)

The fun continues on campus after students return from spring break.

Student Activities hid the prized Jesus egg along with 150 assorted other eggs around campus on Sunday night. Students have all week to search for eggs and claim their prize.

“The Easter Egg Hunt is a lot of fun because it is something fun to do the week after coming back from spring break,” said Marina Rosas, a junior Spanish major from Abilene. “Looking for eggs is fun because they’re hidden in funny places and it’s one way to relax before getting ready to finish the semester.”

On Saturday March 26, Easter Battlepong will be taking place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in Moody. Along with the eggs hidden on campus, there are 100 ping pong balls that students can find and use to help them win the Battlepong tournament.

“I organize and plan campus events because I love taking part in building a community here on campus,” said Ross Pride, junior public relations and advertising major from Arlington, Texas. “It brings a diverse group of students together in a fun and creative way. Chili Cook-Off and the Easter Egg Hunt are great ways for students to get involved in campus life. That is why I strongly encourage students to get involved in organizations and attend events that happen throughout the semester.”

The next event coming up will be the HSU Chili Cook-off on April 7th at 5 p.m. This event will be open to HSU students, faculty and staff and is free to the public. There will be two divisions: the first consisting of HSU students, faculty, and staff; and the second consisting of HSU Alumni and the Abilene Community.
